It's the time to Disco.

Yesterday night was Merchants of Bollywood night. I would have blogged my review last night when the show was still fresh in my mind, but low and behold, the electricity was punishing the family for being too complacent with the abundance of power we take for granted. So last night was a no lights/aircond/fan/internet/tv experience. You really start appreciating what you have then.

Haih, but am glad appliances are back to life with a single flick of the switch. Thank you Mr. Ah Hong, our ever reliable technician.

Back to MOB, let me first share with you of my luck in securing the best seat in the house. Thanks to a certain CEO of a newspaper a.k.a Mom's Boss for deciding not to come at the last minute, I was able to upgrade my ticket to the 2nd row. As I took my seat, the empty seat next to me read a tag "Kerabat Diraja", alamak, sape pulak la duk sbelah ni. Camne nak enjoy? However, set of tagged seats next to me remained empty throught out the show and I was able to whistle and jiggle contently in my seats without having to worry that I might offend anybody.

Only then to realize, the papparazzi snapping blinding flashlights were not there for me. I did, for 10 seconds, felt what it was like to be a celebrity with cameras snapping every second. The Permaisuri Agong, clad in black top to toe, was sitting in front of me. If she turned around, we could have high-fived ala Barney Stinson style.

On the show itself, being an avid fan of broadway shows, I don't know if I should call it a gift or a curse but my eyes tend to spot every single details of a show. Therefore, I am dissapointed to say, I saw some glitches that made me feet a little uncomfortable through out the show. The storyline was "Bollywood-ish", enough said there. The dancers looked like they lacked practice and their lines was...ugh. I cringed at the sight of a less than perfect line. Adding to that, the music and singing was obviously not live, so that itself takes away one of the best elements of a broadway show.

HOWEVER, what they lack in those areas, Bollywood dancers always make it up by the natural enthusiasm that they have in every step executed. You just can't beat them at that. Look out for the traditional dance, it far surpass their more modern dance numbers. Indian dancers sure have an elegance to them that's truly mesmerising. I particularly took a liking to an old dance that were done by courtesans in olden times to seduce the Kings. Hmmm...u'd wonder why eh?

Throughout the show, I had flashbacks of KYS times when we would gather in the RecRoom to watch Bollywood movies in between SPM study sessions. Well, okay not exactly true for me, I didn't really watched any. Only when the movie broke out into a song. Especially the closing number when they did "It's the time to disco" from the movie Kal Ho Nah Ho (forgive me if I'm wrong). I remember the OK 0206 boys performing this song (again, forgive me if I got this one wrong too). Brought out a smile in me, and I rarely smile when reminiscing KYS times. Aaaahh.. I miss all of you. How's everyone?

Supporting the Man U boys tonight. I don't really watch or know about football, am just hoping to see some friends over there whom I might not see elsewhere. So if you're gonna be there, give me a shout.

Special shout out to Ali Imran. All the best in Aussie! I tak sempat nak tunjuk you my newest accomplishment. Lain kali je la.

Peace out.

Mode Therapy

I just finished the last episode of Ugly Betty's latest season. Okay, so I have a confession to make. This is one show that I rarely admit to people that I am an avid fan of. Just cause.

For anyone who doesn't always feel the need to find extreme hidden meaning in every single scene you see or every little subconcious significance in the script you hear, but can simply find pleasure in watching tv series because that was intentionally what tv series are for. To entertain. Give Ugly Betty a try.

My brother is hooked on it after a single episode. Yes, my macho-sports lovin-sometimes homophobic-gym going-Mr.BadAss brother watch Ugly Betty and all its glitzy galor. Well, he is pretty gay himself sometimes. This as a side note, what guy assigns different section of a towel for different part of his body. Eg. the label section for arms and chest, other side section for waist and below, middle section for head. <----Yeah, that's my big brother. Pretty anal, I know.

Okay, back to what I was saying. I only wanted to post about Ugly Betty cause I want to share with you 2 of my favourite characters.

Meet Marc [Michael Urie] and Amanda [Becki Newton].

They are the only reason I tune in to this show.FYI, I hate Betty. And I swear to God, if ever I meet a real life Betty one day, I shall do my job in making her life a living hell. I'm sorry. I'm a closet blonde. It's in my nature that I hate the Ugly Bettys of the world.

Marc and Amanda would be the ultimate best friends to have. Bitchiness + Loyalty. You can't beat that combo. ooOoo..And I secretly have a friend who reminds me of Marc, (yes, it's you who is in IC. Identity shall remain a secret I'll bring to my grave)

To producers of said show : Please do not drop/kill off Marc & Amanda duo because I shall stop watching. This is a THREAT!

PS : Okay, so I lied. I also watch because of Justin Suarez [Mark Indelicato]. But he has been taking a back seat this season. Plus note to producers, me.want.more.

Yo everyone. Go get your IceAge 3 tickets now! And make sure you get the 3D ones. If needed, trade in your Transformers 2 tickets for it.

Watch this. I couldn't embed it.

This public announcement is brought to you by.....urrmm..me?

Ieieieie....geramnye!

Why change from BM to English only to change it back to BM?

I love my native language. I speak it, I read it and I have pride in it. Changes are hard, but what would challenges be if not challenging yet fruitful in the end. I would be lieing if I said I got to where I am without my ability to communicate and converse well in English.

Some say I have it easier than others. And my sympathies are with those who are struggling to cope. But shouldn't we be daring to overcome obstacles rather than taking a U-turn everytime the road gets a litle bumpy.

Aaarrgghhh..and what pains me the most is having this feeling that all these are done not to ease the burden of citizens, more to garner support of the people for certain group/agendas. I really don't wanna ramble on. All I can say is

......iiiiiiiiieieiieiiieeieieii GERAMNYE!.........

Just Dance

I went back kampung this weekend for my kenduri kesyukuran/doa selamat/tahlil ~kenduri 3-in-1~

My cousin, boy. 12 years old. kurus. said "Kakak, come. I'll show you my new dance"

House music blaring from the handphone, he spurts out the club-shuffle dance.

For my readers who don't know the notorious club-shuffle dance, acapkali kita melihat gerak tari ini dipertontonkan oleh remaja di kelab, yang buat tepi jalan raya pun ade, selalunya berbangsa Melayu serta gemar berlumba-lumba motor, sebab kool la jadi Superman atas motor.

I can see him in the skinny jeans, selipar tandas Jepun, rambut potong senget.

Mr Mat Rempit, I blame you for stealing the innocence of my young cousin.

Please pray for him. Oh, he is still so young.

Pet Peeves #61 : People who don't effin answer their text messages.

Okay, I might be a culprit of my own pet peeves. But that's different.

When you have one of those text conversations - sessions that usually last for more than an hour - and you decided that you have had enough and it is about time you stop having to pick up your phone every 5 mins, do what I do. Start replying with one word text eg. ok, sure, idk, fine. The other party should know then that it is a sign to say,

'Aite, I'm tired of texting you. Can we continue with our real life now?'

Hence, when this is accomplished, it is okay for either one to ignore the other person and stop texting. So for you haters out there, don't be all up on my case when I don't text back. I just thought the conversation was over.

Then there is another case when you ask a specific question like ' What are you doing?'. This is a clear indication that an answer is expected. So answer your goddamn text, POR FAVOR.

Siapa yang makan cili, silalah rasa kepedasan 'hint-hint' ini.

And yes, today is my birthday. I don't really wanna be reminded that I'm already 20. Is that considered too old to still be listening to Miley Cyrus?

Byebye teenage years. You've been both kind and cruel to me.

Halo

My brother said : Why you wanna worry? You're gonna be somebody.

A colleague said : You different la. Your path is destined.

A teacher said : Awak bukan macam orang lain.

How all of you know? I also don't know. What? You saw my exam slip is it? What does it indicate anyway pun. I read books very well, I do a lot of past year paper, I go to class religously.

A-Levels kantoi pun, you still see the same old me.

I kerja baru first time skarang, nak cakap ngan orang tak reti, nak handle project kelam kabut. Berangan je lebih. Isn't that what you want?

I thank you for your support and faith in me. Sometimes, I feel that it is the only thing that keeps me going.

But then again, betul ke ape yang u tengok ni?

Need.More.Time

Today it is the 3rd of June. which means it has been 3 weeks and 5 days since I've been back from the States. which also indicates that I have 2 weeks and 2 days left before I am done with my internship. Everyday is precious, I count them down as I tick my organizer's calendar.
Cepatla.....

All 3 weeks, I have only seen a handful of my friends when I vowed to myself to meet up with all long lost forgotten friends the moment I touched down Malaysia. For all you still reading my blog, honest to God, it is not that you have disapparated from my mind. And I know I shouldn't be putting blame on my work (which IS the culprit of my wasted precious time), but.............yeah, ummmm.............shyte! i can't find any other excuses. Even those I do see, I'm too tired to hang out with. Sampai ada orang tu merajuk nak lari gi Indon la.

So, no worries, those who knows me well enough, you know I always deliver. Once am done with work I'll hit you up. I shall not name names in fear that some may be offended that they are not mentioned.

Relay 4 Life was both awesomely terrific and energy consuming at the same time. It's weird how the pain of others make you see how less pain-less your life is. Here I am complaining about my internship when some kids are complaining that their hair is falling out after chemo. Blunt in comparison.

On a happy note, met an old school chap there. Was happily listening to the live band when who should I find playing the guitar but our very own Shaiful Ayisy! =). Ayisy will be graduating soon and starting work at Media Prima. Good on you!

ouch.

Today she called me lazy. I honestly cannot remember the last person who ever used the adjective 'lazy' to describe me.

I wake up at 6am in the morning to go to work when work actually starts at 9am. Spend the whole day there, sometimes doing barely nothing much, which can be very tiring. I come home and by 10pm, I'm already asleep.

So during the weekend I allow myself some lounging time catching up on my TV series. And she had to say that I am lazy.

I signed up for the internship as soon as I got back from the States and I plan to work also when I'm done with that. Just to avoid having to hear her say that. I've been away for so long I forgot how hard it is to live under the same roof and how painful her words can be sometimes.

Mmm, I remember who was the last to called me lazy. It was last year before I went to college. She felt that I woke up too late.

macam macam ada

Blogging to you straight from the the office where i spend my days browsing through the net on "The Best Hair Styles of Summer 09", "Five Best Lies You Never Knew" and the likes. Okay, I lied. I also read books which have long been left forgotten but are suddenly much more appealing when faced with 9 hours of mind boogling office fun.

Internship is a test. A test of my patience.

I really want to do some Sudoku now. I was reading Aisyah's blog. I'm retired (as in a retired student, for now) and I'm free (cause my boss is outstation for the weekend), and she's so right! I do qualify for some Sudoku love session. There was a time when I could finish a puzzle in 5 mins. True story!

Now i take half an hour for a measly beginners Sudoku in the bi-weekly Brown & White. I need to up my game.

Oh! I just remembered. I have a Sudoku book that Nabeel bought for my birthday last year. Note to self : must find said Sudoku book.

I'm wondering when Boricua will fall upon my blog. He knows I have one, but it might take some time for him to figure out that he might want to read it. He's a lil slow like that. You're a creeper! Do something productive with your life.

P.A.N.A.S

I stepped out and there were people greeting me with surgical mask covering their mouths and noses.

Alamak. Kena quarantine ke?

My bladder was screaming to me resulting from me downing the bottle of mineral water. Aiming for the nearest ladies room, I did my business. As I reached for the tissue paper, I saw it.

Eh, ade hose air la!

YES!!! I'm back in Malaysia.

I like.

The year is coming to an end. How fast everything went this year. The end of the year brings gazillion invites from different people around campus wanting to celebrate you for...well,for just being you.

The last week of class, I had a lunch/dinner/party/formal/get-together invite almost everyday, free of charge of course. Almost all were through the activities or committees that I have been on throughout the year. And mind you, they are not cheap at all.

It struck me how different the Americans are compared to us back home. Americans spend money on big social events just to socialize and nothing more. I feel that in Malaysia, whenever we had something on, there was always a reason to it. To celebrate, to thank, to say goodbye, to say welcome or whatever it is.

Rock The Quad was done simply to provide fun for students living around the Quad area. Free food, free drinks, free shirts, free inflatable bull ride, free goodies. Everything could have easily cost USD 20,000. Is it worth it just so students have a fun day out?

Well, I don't care as long as it's not my money. Everything was awesome-licious to me. Especially with the beautiful weather outside. Gonna miss it when I get back home to Malaysia.

Finals around the corner. -_-"

ooo..saya sangat suke

EGO
Hey baby
How you doing?
You know
I'm gonna cut right
To the chase
Some women were made
But me, myself
I like to think
I was created
For a special purpose
You know,
What's more
Special than you,
You feel me?

It's on,
Baby lets get lost
You don't need
To call into work,
Cuz you're the boss
For real want you
To show me how you feel
I consider myself
Lucky that's a big deal

Why, well,
You got the key to my heart
But you aint gonna need it
I'd rather you open up my body
And show me secrets
You didn't know was inside,
No need for me to lie

It's too big
It's too wide
It's too strong
It wont fit
It's too much
It's too tough
He talks like this
Cuz he can back it up
He got a big ego
Such a huge ego
I love his big ego
It's too much
He walks like this
Cuz he can back it up

Usually I'm humble
Right now I don't choose
You can leave with me
Or you could have the blues
Some call it arrogant
I call it confidant
You decide when you find
On what I'm working with
Damn I know,
I'm killing you with them legs
Better yet them thighs
Matter a fact it's my smile
Or maybe my eyes
Boy you a site to see
Kind of something like me

I have a slight obsession with Beyonce at the moment. and me *hearts*

Tengo la Camisa Negra

Somebody needs to shoot me in the head. We just spent a whopping 1 hour and15 minutes talking about barcharts and piecharts. Honestly, it ain't that complicated. It is inferred that ECO 045 is a waste of my time.

Anyway, something happened to me in NYC that I haven't wrote about. Here goes:

A significant part of my winter break was spent either at the train station or freezing my ass off waiting for the bus. Let me just tell you, it is a very unpleasant feeling when you are so cold you cannot feel your legs.

Me and Tony were at the train station, and if you haven't already know, Tony is an African American/Black/however you want to call it guy. We were minding our business, just waiting for the E train. I was leaning on him and had my head on his chest. In comes this black guy, walks up to Tony and start preaching about relationships. (You get a lot of random people preaching stuff by the corner at the subway station). So he keeps talking to Tony, blatantly ignoring me, telling him about how his brother went crazy in the head because he married a Puerto Rican woman. It was hard to understand and follow what he was saying but the gist of it was how Puerto Rican women are evil and should be stayed away from at all cost.

Now, initially, I was trying to be an active participant of the conversation. But it just became so obvious that he wasn't interested in acknowledging me. And then it hit me!

Instead of being friendly, he was actually trying to warn Tony to stay away from me. He effin thought i was Puerto Rican!

Well, if I was one, I would be offended. Since I'm not, I just thought the whole thing was funny. This isn't the first time somebody thought I was a Latino. I get people coming up to me in Spanish all the time. -_-".

I hate not having my own laptop.

Where did it all go?

Thesis : Laptop crashed.

Therefore, resort to spending time in the library computers.

Hence, absence in blog world is inevitable.

2009 start with a huge pppiiiiiuuuu (sound of object falling down a cliff)
Then there was a huge BANG!
And now, it is slowly sounding like a sad love song.

I let you ponder on that for a while before I find more time to tell more.
