My Raya acoording to myra-me

Woke up late for my Greek exams today[which I totally tanked], sprinted all the way to Packard Lab. Didn't put my contact lenses on cause I was in a rush, only to realise that I did not have my glasses in my bag. So, today's classes were a blur of abstract motives dancing around. I got back with a splitting headache.

Back about my raya day.

On Eid morning, I woke up at 6 am to go for Eid prayers. It was cold and I was not very motivated to get up and get dress. So I went,

aahh..tidola balik.

Only later did I find out Pua also missed smayang raya. So, I didn't feel so bad.

I decided to take advantage of my 'excused absence' and sleep in till 11am. Woke up, had brunch and proceed to spend the whole day at the library to study for the Greek exam.
Next, I had a workshop to attend for my Leadership Lehigh program and this was until 5.30 pm.

Soo, up till this point, raya was basically.........uneventful.

But then....we[me, Pua, Steve, Naazer] went to abg israd and kak syahrul's house for dinner. Just as we entered, lagu raya berdendang from the laptop where it was streamed. The smell of yummy food and kids running around in baju raya.
Yes, there were slight tears in my eyes.
Finally, the aidilfitri vibe that I have been missing.

Oh my god. I went for the sambal like nobody's bussiness. Don't keep Myra too far away from sambal for too long, she goes slightly out of control.

I miss La Familia like crazy.

Wherever you are right now,
Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Batin.

I wish I had pics to post though. But still no camera for me.
Take a camera away from a camwhore. I AM feeling the pain right now.

Emo Always

OooOOo yeah. Take a good look at that ass!

Somebody's turning 19 today. woot woot!

To Zatesa Aznam,
loyal reader of my blog because she has no life and a life that is Myra-free is a life not worth living.

Sucks that we only met last year.
But it takes a moment to build a friendship and an eternity to break one.

Thanks for layaning my karenah. Your MyVi has been put to good use.=P. And am missing your awesome house.

Have a good birthday! Don't do something I won't do. Or, wait till am back then we'll do something I won't do.

Much love,
Your kinky twin.

Big Gulp

For those of you who knew me fairly well last year and early this year, you might know my slight obsession with this little 'insignificant' isotonic drink called 100-plus. If you had a crate of it in your room, plus a mini fridge to chill it <----kudos to Diana for having both items checked, you might most probably have Myra knocking on your door every half an hour.

So, I got here in the States and ka-blam-miee! There ain't no 100-plus around. kuang kuang kuang [sound effect from Doraemon soundtrack]

We learn in Econs that for some goods there are substitute goods and i feel like educating my fellow readers here. So, a substitute good is when you change consumption of one good to another good. I.e., 100-plus is now out, IN comes

MOUNTAIN DEW

Oooohh yeah. You know when nak buka puasa, or after a tiring day in the gym dancing Toy Soldier for the gazilion times, sure feels damn good gulping it down.

I hate that it's Monday tomorrow. Where did my weekend go?

O-K!

I had an epiphany to wikipedia the word okay. Here's what i found.
  1. Telegraphed reports of platoon casualties whereby OK "oh key" meant "0 (zero) key (killed)"
  2. In German newspapers and printing the term OK has been in use at least since the 1800s; it stood for "ohne Korrektur" (without correction)
  3. In Greek, O.K. is a correctly-spelled abbreviation for the expression, Ola Kala (Ὅλα Καλά, ΟΚ), which means "everything is fine".
  4. French fishermen, including those based in New Orleans, might sometimes have used the phrase "au quai", literally "to the quay", to mean that a fishing trip was successful (or went okay)
Well there were more, but these are the more interesting ones.

More impor
tantly, O.K also stands for Ohana Kaizen 0206. 5 years of growing up together, you don't erase those times from your life in a heartbeat.

I'm not incredibly nostalgic. But there are definitely times I wish I could go back to the family I had.

Herodotus, Thucydides and the likes should have been buta huruf. That way, Greek history would definitely be easier to tackle.

Ditto

New discovery # 392 : I get kicks from reading gay magazine in Linderman Library.

I don't know why I never did it before. (maybe cause they never had one in Malaysia)

Cleo, Seventeen and the likes feature women that only serve to make me feel worst about my state of less than flattering body.

vs

Gay magazines with sizzling hot males, most of them naked to the butt, and you know how them gay guys keep their bodies. Uhuh... ooOOoo yeah. You know what I'm talking about.

Ergo, you do the math.

Who cares if they themselves prefer looking at other men.
Yuuummmy-licious...*droool*

Haih, bulan puasa la myra.

Another one bites the dust

For some strange reason, all the birthdays of my friends are clustered around the same time.

It has come time again to sing a birthday song people. All together now....

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Ainul retard,
Happy Birthday to you.

Hugs and kisses. =P.

* missing those netball/basketball/ultimate frisbee/futsal/jogging/you rollerlading and falling/ wii and DDR playing days.

I just had to show this video. If Ainul was a cat, this would definitely be something she would do on a daily basis. She's just weird that way.

Life

I get so many people asking how my life is in Lehigh now. I mean seriously, what do you expect me to answer?

1. It's effin cold yet it is still summer. I have days when I want to hurl under my hoodie and sweatpants when I realise I don't have either of them cause you just don't come a time when you needed one in Malaysia.
2. I am disgusted by how unhygienic it is to go to the toilet because I can use ONLY tissue papers to wipe my ass. Haven't people here heard that you can use water.
3. Living in my own room for a couple years have make me question myself that, 'hmmm... maybe the roommate thingy just ain't my thing'.
4. I'm still in the facebook stalking phase, I just do it with much less frequencies.
5. Waking up at 7 in the morning is not something enjoyable to do on a daily basis.
6. Sucks that I can't download songs and movies anymore for fear the internet police might come barging at my door.
7. N why the hell can't i bullet or change the font on blogspot now?!?! ppfftt..

Instead, I'll say.

Everything's good.

Well okaay. Wiriyak Suvanmani[felt like mentioning ur full name] says that i sound like am not too happy being here. I got an email from my bro the other day, and he said he was sorry he didn't email frequent enough. It's just that he wants to make sure when he emails me, it's when he is happy so that I'd feel happy when I read it (<----best bro in the world btw)

Typically, I blog when I am on my table bored as hell, staring at my array of photos, and missing the life I had back home. Naturally,.....well, you get my drift here.
So, id save some time replying to all the threads of msgs i received about 'how life is?' and redirect them to read this page.

Here goes,
1. I love being a Malaysian in Lehigh. If I said something wrong, do something lame or just want some attention, I go "I'm Malaysian *insert pathetic face*". Everyone goes, "oh really? that's so cooolll..awesome." and everything else will be forgiven.

2. Classes here are great. It's funny how I have learned everything they're teaching me now, yet I dont get bored. i.e. Puan Halijah's class vs. Prof Collins' class : Both literally are saying the absolute same thing about business. But somehow I always end up fantasizing about my upcoming weekend in the former class, while hanging on to every word in the later's.

3. Am having a blast with the extra things to do here. Dance and step practice is hearts and joy for me. I plan my days around them.
Time to berkembang ur surpressed dancer syndrome ~WJ

4. People are super duper friendly. A random person might come up to you and say, " How's your day sweetheart?" . Geez, even my boyfriends never did that back home.

5. Okay, this one I am so TOTALLY not making it up. Here, I have shrunked by TWO size. I bought something at a store and I have to return my large size to a small size. ooooOO yeay. I haven't worn anything small in a looong time. People here are just bigger than us Asian, so they have bigger size. There is a drawback though. My once, worthy of praise 'chest' area has now lost its grandeur. It is NO match to them others walking around. Oh well, you gain some you lose some.

6. Just so you know, partying in the States is no better than back in Malaysia. All those wack you heard about frat/sorority craziness, it's not all that it's hyped up to be. Yeah, you get the crazy shit where kids practically fornicate on the dance floor and if you a girl, damn well watch yourself. I'd trade all those parties to hang at Zat's house. Maybe I'm just conservative that way (<---hmmm,i never thought of me being conservative). But you do get a bunch of friends who appreciate just chilling at The Hawk's Nest for a game of foosball or air hockey.

7. Top it all of, I'm going camping this weekend for a retreat with the Leadership Lehigh Program. woot woot! can't wait. It is goin to be cold as hell, but heck, I'll brave it.

Aite,
I'm signing off here. I don't like writing long blogs cause I know I myself don't read blogs that are long. But, this one was hard to avoid. If you have read up to this point. Kudos!! You must love me a lot. Hahaha. I love you too.

OOooooOzing..
